While working from home, has some upsides, many of us are feeling burnout from the exhaustion of continuously working and have almost no work-life balance. After almost 2 years of working from home, we’re finding ourselves mentally tired and harder to wind down after work. Learning how to balance work and life is important for maintaining our mental health.

Shut down the laptop

Sometimes you may not notice how time flies when there is constantly so much to do. A way to mark the change between work and play is to set an alarm to remind yourself that you’re done with working for the day and physically shut your computer and walk away from it. 

It’s important to mark the change between work and leisure time in order to have your own 'me' time. Turning off from work allows you to focus on things that are important to you, such as your hobbies and even spending time with your family and friends. This is to ensure that you are taking care of yourself, making you more productive in the long run. 

Go for a walk

There used to be a distinct break between work and home that helped us to mark the difference between the two, however now we often end up working later and letting work seep into our home life. Try going for an evening walk and observe the sunset and breathe in fresh air. It will give you something to look forward to after work and help you to relax, not just during the weekend.
