A Neighborly Beginning Blossoms into Creative Partnership
The partnership began serendipitously when Scent Journer and Decibelist were neighbors at the Boutique Fairs Singapore. “Brian’s speakers instantly caught our eye; they looked like works of art,” says Scent Journer’s founder, Joyce Lian.
Their conversations quickly revealed how much they shared in terms of creative vision and a love for immersive experiences. “We saw a unique opportunity to pair sound with scent,” explains Lian. “Our creative visions aligned perfectly, leading to the creation of a fully customizable Art-Scent Speaker. Together, we’ve achieved a seamless blend of aesthetics and innovation.” The speakers feature customizable fabrics, and choice of five signature fragrances to complete the ambiance. Together, this collaboration brings a new dimension to interiors, combining art, sound, and scent for a fully immersive and elevated atmosphere.
What has the process of the collaboration been like?
The process has been incredibly fulfilling. "Our creative visions align so well, and we respect each other’s need for freedom in exploring new ideas," Lian notes. “This understanding allowed us to approach the project with fewer limitations, leading to a result we're very proud of.”
