At Scent Journer, we believe that ingredients rooted in our region can be elevated into modern fine fragrance that feel both unexpected and deeply familiar. But more importantly, we believe that people in this region deserve a deeper, more personal connection with perfumes they wear.

This vision was born from a deep connection to our community. Before a single bottle was formulated, our founder, Joyce, sat down with over 300 people to listen to their stories. She noticed a common thread: for many, perfumery felt remote. The ingredients were unfamiliar, and the stories belonged to somewhere else. People often chose what was popular or what smelled "nice" on a paper strip, without truly connecting to the fragrance.

Joyce realized that no one was crafting fine fragrances specifically for this part of the world. Hence, we take familiar notes you already love—like Pandan, Jasmine, or Oolong—and transform them in a way you’ve never seen before. In 2021, after a hundred modifications, her first fragrance, Clouds in Heaven, was born.

Raw Material Freedom
To reveal the extraordinary soul of Asian botanicals, we knew we had to do things differently. Being an independent brand gives us raw material freedom, we have full decision-making power over the quality of the ingredients we use.

Unlike mass-market brands bound by global trends and cost-cutting, our independence allows us to prioritize the authentic essence of our region. This freedom means we can search for the finest regional extracts, ensuring that the "soul" of the ingredient is never lost in the process. We don't choose ingredients for novelty; we choose them because they are woven into the fabric of Asian life.

Through each fragrance, the name, the ingredients, and the experience converge into a sensory story—subtle, uplifting, and intimately yours. We choose names that uplift, creating small sparks of light in your daily routine.
By reimagining familiar ingredients, we stir feeling and awaken wonder: the softness of pandan becomes memory, and the warmth of Sichuan pepper inspires courage.
